O Cilindro é a peça responsável por transferir a imagem que será impressa na folha. O toner é esparramado na superfície do cilindro e se adere ao papel, em seguida o papel é aquecido e pressionado para fundir a imagem formada pelo toner, transferindo a imagem para a folha. O cilindro está presente no cartucho de Toner ou no Fotocondutor, cada fabricante tem seus modelos específicos. Quando a impressão começa a sair clara, com manchas, riscos ou marcas, é sinal que está na hora de trocar o cilindro. Cada modelo possui o seu tempo de vida útil, mas a média seria de duas a seis recargas, dependendo do tipo de impressão realizado.
