Street Survivors appeared in stores in October 1977, just days before Lynyrd Skynyrd's touring plane crashed, tragically killing many members of the band. If the band had lived "Street Survivors" would have been seen as an unqualified triumph, a record that firmly re-established Skynyrd's status as the great Southern rock band. The album achieved gold certification just 10 days after its release. It would later go double platinum.

Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) jacket based off of the original US jacket artwork. Part 6 of a seven-album Lynyrd Skynyrd SHM-CD Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue series featuring the albums "Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd," "Second Helping," "Nuthin' Fancy," "Gimme Back My Bullets," "One More From The Road," "Street Survivors," and "Southern By The Grace Of God." Features the 2008 remastering.

The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
